When I first found out I was going to be a momma, I immediately thought of all the parenting milestones I was looking forward to. Listening to him giggle for the first time. Baking cookies together. Teaching him how to tie his shoe. Kissing boo-boo's. Watching as he takes his first steps. Letting him dive head-first into a mountain of cake. I'm of course talking about the one the (one)ly first. Birthday. Party!
Although I may still have a few months before I get to witness my boy indulge in his own personal baked good, that time came ever-so quickly for Kyle and Sarah, the proud parents of Mr. Alexander.
In his 12 months of living, this little blonde-haired boy has brought so much joy to so many people. Friday night was no exception. His family watched as he (timidly at first) enjoyed the benefits of turning a year old. He took in the moment. Clapping his iced hands, and occasionally poking his head around to make sure his grandparents were watching. And when he had finally devoured his cake, I'm not sure who was more proud: him or his daddy.
Alexander, you are a little blessing! One year down, so many fun, amazing, and fantastic years to look forward to!
