AMS 8TH GRADE DANCE 2024

Whew! This is always a super fun, super busy, super exciting, and super exhausting weekend for me. And I've never even been to a Derby Party. In fact, the reason I love this weekend so much has nothing to do with Derby at all. This is the weekend of the AMS and AHS dances and I get to see so many sweet young adults all spiffied up and ready for some time in front of the camera!

I've been shooting this weekend since 2019, and each year I love it more, but this year was especially (bitter)sweet for me. This year, I got to photograph my three babies (siblings) all dressed up and looking way too old. Time is kind of a crazy thing. I could close my eyes and feel like I'm right back to my own 8th grade dance, yet it's also been a lifetime ago. But enough about the past, let's focus on the 8th graders of today. They deserve it!

Everyone was so sweet, fun, and natural. I'm always impressed by the creativity of these outfits and accessories, and this year did not disappoint. I may tend to live in the past a little, but I can absolutely admit that the 8th grade dance is in a much better place than it was in 2010. Proof in the scroll below as apposed to my luau-themed brown and turquoise dress.

I hope you all had the best time!
