I remember being engaged. It was only for six months, but it sure felt like a lot longer than that. I had to plan so much in a very little time. There was always something to do, a question to answer, a box to check off…
I usually meet with couples at the beginning of their engagements when the excitement is at a peak. Then I meet with couples again at the end of the engagement and all of that excitement has turned into stress. Being engaged is undoubtedly a stressful time, but something kind of magical happens during engagement sessions. When all of the focus is on the couple in front of me and the love between them, it’s like all of the stress goes away for a minute.
Although I really can’t see either of these two being very frazzled, I did witness that ease and comfort I’m so used to seeing in couples who are in love when I photographed them earlier this week. All they do is smile. I almost felt bad asking them to give me a non-smile because I wasn’t sure if they knew how to not look extremely happy. While they did absolutely nail those serious, more quiet poses, you can see on their faces that they are most happy smiling at each other.
Liz and Jeremy, I can't wait to see those smiling faces when you all finally become Mr. and Mrs.!
