There really is no getting around it: 2020 was a weird one. If you had told me last Christmas that there would be no hand shakes, no birthday hugs, no toilet paper...I probably wouldn't have believed you. But despite all of the separation, I think our family has grown closer and stronger than ever.
This year I watched by baby go from playing on a tummy time mat to running around shooting basketballs at his new hoop. Josh has been unbelievably blessed to be able to work from home. I had a record-breaking year in photography despite the months of lockdown. We celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary (and survived our first night away from Landon). We've spent more time together as a family this year than ever before. Sure it was no fun being sick and away from the ones we love, but God brought us through it with not so much as even a sniffle of longterm symptoms.
As I sit in my warm home, looking at the mountain of opened boxes and ripped wrapping paper on the floor, enjoying the smell of brown sugar and cinnamon coming from the oven, and occasionally checking in on my baby who is so peacefully napping away, the only thing I can say is I am blessed.
I'm so thankful for my family, for my business, for my clients, and yes, even for 2020. Consider this your virtual Christmas card from the Turners and Things Are Lovely Photography. I pray each and every one of you have a wonderful, safe, healthy, and blessed Christmas and an even better 2021!
