Missing all the action at Churchill Downs? Look no further. I have a little dose of Derby right here for ya.
In honor of her upcoming nuptials, family and friends gathered on Sunday to celebrate the soon-to-be Mrs. Burton. Lisann was already a vision in white as she treated her guests to a little taste of Derby.
The place settings were breathtaking, the food looked seriously too good to eat, the games were super entertaining (turns out I'm terrible at Derby trivia), the company was spectacular, and on top of all of this: God blessed us with incredible weather in the middle of Summer.
Guests donned their own version of a perfect Derby hat. My favorite ones were homemade! including the crowd's favorite: Miss Clarice Goodin's hat. Lisann was "showered" with lots of goodies that were all perfect for starting a new life as a Mrs. I have to say, my favorite one was a plate that had her Great-Grandmother's handwritten gingerbread recipe on it. It sure made me miss my own Great-Grandmother and her gingerbread...
Everything was done in true southern belle fashion, and in my personal opinion, it couldn't have been more perfect! Although it was difficult to narrow it down, here are a few of my favorite images from the day.
Andrew and Lisann, although it may feel like you are in the homestretch, the truth is: the wedding is only the beginning. Finding someone to love you for the rest of your life? Well, that's luckier than any trifecta winner could ever hope to be.
Congratulations! I wish you both a lifetime of bliss and delicious cake!
