Typing that title is so surreal because I was very sure I would never have a second maternity session. Our journey into parenthood and that first newborn phase wasn't something I ever thought I could handle redoing. But, by the grace of God, our second go-around was night-and-day different than the first. I'm happy to report that He has been merciful once again with our third baby. I'm glad God is in control of our family because if it had been up to me, Landon would still be an only child and my life would be so different.
So with those thoughts of thanks in our minds, we prepare for the soon coming of our third child and second baby girl! I found my hubby sitting cross-legged on the living room floor the other night, drinking a cup of pretend tea with his pinky out, so I think he's more than ready to expand his girl-dad role.
Landon was upset after finding out that he wasn't going to have a baby brother, but it lasted for about 8 minutes and he was good again. He told me, "Mommy, I don't think this baby will be as cute as Evelyn is." I guess we'll see. Either way, I know he will continue to be the best big brother ever and show even more tenderness and love when his next baby sister comes.
Evie, my sweet baby girl, my 22-pound firecracker, has literally corrected me about how to hold her baby dolls. She was right, though. I was holding her "crying" baby doll with one hand because my other hand was busy cooking. She said, "No, mommy! Like this..." then she proceeds to show me how to hold a baby with two hands. I'm sure she will be the supreme authority on all things baby.
As for me, I'm just ready to meet her. I can't wait to see how she changes each one of us and I'm excited for this next chapter in our family's story.
A MASSIVE thank you to Sadie for shooting these images and to Granny, Pa, Monse, and Chelsea for helping with the kiddos. It takes a village and we have the very best!
