Even though they were absolutely magical and precious, my favorite memories from my wedding day aren’t lighting the unity candle, cutting the cake, or even walking down the aisle. My favorite memories are those that seemed so insignificant at the time. Eating chicken nuggets with my bridesmaids, doing my little sisters’ hair, getting my Pappy a Bit-O-Honey from the candy buffet…
As I was photographing Sam & Andrew’s wedding, I was reminded of a lot of those “insignificant” priceless memories because their gorgeous wedding day was so full of them. Andrew’s mom helping with his bowtie, Taco Bell in bridesmaids dresses, writing and rewriting and rewriting the welcome sign…
I had the best time getting to capture all of these small moments. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of big moments too. Like when Sam and Andrew held hands and exchanged private vows, when Andrew saw his bride for the first time, and their portraits together seriously look fake. I promise I didn’t Photoshop- it was really just that dreamy. Put all of these moments together and you have one unforgettable wedding day. It was an honor to capture. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way, but you two have such a calmness and ease about you that you make me feel like family.
Thank you so much for trusting me with such an important task. And of course, I’m talking about trying to find all 20 Star Wars characters scattered throughout the venue.
