CAMERON & CHEYENNE | A CHRISTMAS TREE FARM SURPRISE PROPOSAL SESSION

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

If you didn’t know, I’m a big Christmas fan. It’s kinda my thing. Listening to Christmas music, perfectly placing every ornament on the tree, drinking hot chocolate while my husband shivers outside putting up lights...but most of all: I love, love, love spending time with my family. So when I got a booking request for a family who wanted to have their session at a Christmas Tree farm, let’s just say I was a little excited.

I did some research, and we ended up at Wynn’s Christmas Tree Farm in Seymour. By the way, if you need a tree, they still have lots of beautiful ones to choose from! It was the perfectly place for Jeff, Kelly, Caelynn, Tyler, Lennon, Caven, Cameron, and Cheyenne to cozy up and get some great shots! Jeff and Kelly’s story began in 1993. 26 years later and they can boast three wonderful kiddos and one beautiful grandbaby.

This family was adorable, the setting was amazing, the weather was perfect photography weather. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Cameron secretly informs me that he wants to ask Cheyenne to marry him! Are you kidding me?! A surprise proposal at a Christmas Tree Farm?! Yes, puh-leeeeeease!

When the timing was right, I turned Cheyenne around to “instruct” her through the next pose. At the same time, Cameron was getting down on one knee behind her. When she turned around and saw her love holding a ring, she put her hand over her mouth, then bent down to embrace him. I thought that was so incredibly telling of the kind of relationship they have. She didn’t stand above him and stick out her hand. She looked at the man kneeling before her and she bent down to his level to accept him. So humble. SO sweet.

The rest of the session was spent capturing the joy between the future Mr. & Mrs. I told my husband on the way home that it was straight out of a movie scene.

When I pulled in the driveway, my house was covered in snow, the Christmas lights were on, and my two boys where standing at the window waiting for me. Yesterday was almost too much for my hopelessly romantic, Christmas-loving heart to handle.

Stickels, thank you so much for letting me capture this time in your (growing) family’s story. Cameron and Cheyenne, CONGRATS!! Gaaaaaaa! It was perfect and I’m honored just to have witnessed it!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go turn on some Christmas music, cuddle with my baby, and look at these pictures again because WOW this family is adorable.
